Integrative psychiatric care expands beyond a medical model of psychiatry, which focuses on prescribing medications to address specific symptoms. Treatment begins with a diagnostic psychiatric evaluation that looks to identify root causes of symptoms, lab work and goal setting.
I am an expert in pharmacotherapy and support the safe, appropriate and informed use of medication to support mental well-being - including during pregnancy. I work with you longitudinally to holistically assess the factors and context of your mental health symptoms.

We will discuss treatment options that may also include high quality, evidence-based supplements, nutrition and movement as medicine. I can also work with you to safely deprescribe medications to minimize possible withdrawal symptoms.
I specialize in treating: anxiety, panic, depression, bipolar spectrum disorders, mood swings, insomnia, trauma and PTSD-related symptoms.

Integrative Psychiatry
Individual Psychotherapy

My psychotherapeutic framework is also integrative and is influenced by cognitive, narrative, somatic and mindfulness based interventions.

I have completed training in EMDR through EMDRIA specifically for perinatal populations. I have been using these modalities for more than four years as part of a holistic approach to psychiatric care.

Somatic therapy methods help you develop resources to self-regulate your emotions and move out of fight/flight/freeze mode to help you think more clearly - clients build the capacity to feel more comfortable in their body and sit in the physical sensations associated with their emotions. Exploring the mind-body connection in addressing symptoms is an integral part of my practice.

Mindfulness-based therapy is rooted in helping us become more aware of our thinking and change our relationship to our thoughts as a part of healing and symptom relief. Narrative therapeutic methods are helpful for individual who want to become aware of and change the stories of their lives and the meanings made of their experiences.
